Dear Editor,
The Venezuelan president said he will reconquer it, their generals came to their side of Ankoko and spoke with the inhabitants, and now there is a surge of Venezuelans into Region 1. Nothing has been done to secure the border, no homestead has been removed, the immigrants have not been asked to peacefully leave the country and no joint training with the USA on the border has been started. Yet, the influx of Venezuelans has commenced. What are we waiting for, an invitation to the flag raising by Maduro in Essequibo? It is time to get busy and stop being naive. Learn from our history. Reconquering may take many forms. Put them all out and secure the borders with the help of our allies.
Yours truly,
Jamil Changlee
