Kaieteur News – Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr on Sunday last spent the entire day visiting a number of communities in East Berbice.
The energetic Minister, who is also an Attorney at Law, was accompanied by a high level team from his ministry and Regional Officials including Kashif Muhammad and Regional Chairman David Armogan among others.
The visit by the minister and his team is a follow up on a previous visit and to fulfill commitments he made earlier.
The Minister and his team visited the Indian Monument Site at Palmyra, East Coast Berbice, Rose Hall Estate Community Centre in East Canje, Chesney, Jai Hind, Hampshire, Whim, No 70, Line Path and Crabwood Creek on the Corentyne.
During the visit Minister Ramson and his team distributed a number of floodlights and cricket gear to some of the sports groups and communities as well as held discussions with organizations, groups and individuals from the various areas.
He also made promises that in the next budget more will be on offer and a number of grounds in the region will be upgraded.
He also reiterated the Government’s promise to convert the Albion Community Centre to a full fled Stadium and complete the Burnham Park facility which is under construction into a stadium.
A number of concerns were raised by residents, which the minister promised to address in the shortest possible time. (Samuel Whyte)
