Kenneth Finlayson accepts the cheque from Michelle Codrington in the presence of GGA President Aleem Hussain.
Kaieteur News – The Guyana Golf Association in collaboration with the Nexgen Golf Academy has made a timely donation to Hope Children’s Orphanage.
Following a fund raising event held by the GGA and Nexgen GA on Sunday where the children were exposed to the sport, Golf Association president Aleem Hussain and Michelle Codrington fulfilled the Nexgen Golf Academy promise to deliver a better Christmas in 2020. At a presentation ceremony held yesterday, the duo handed over a cheque to Director of the Orphanage Kenneth Finlayson.
Finlayson expressed his gratitude and the children enthusiastically sang carols as they recalled the wonderful event held on Sunday.
Mr. Finlayson said that this would definitely give the children much better holiday than previously anticipated and he was looking forward to more support to complete the planned building expansion which had been stalled due to lack of funds and materials.
“Persons or companies interested in making contributions to the Orphanage can contact Mr. Hussain who has agreed to do whatever it takes to help us complete the project,” said Finlayson.
The Guyana Golf Association and Nexgen Golf Academy have led the way in using sports for fundraising in the past few years and Hussain promised that greater things were in the works.
There are many opportunities for groups and individuals who wish to partake in the sport or use the Academy to create a safe, covid compliant activity just by stopping by, visiting their Facebook page or calling 645-0944.
