Kaieteur News – The New Guyana Marketing Corporation (NGMC), on Monday, November 16, 2020, welcomed its new General Manager.
According to a government release, Lall, who has “confidently” stepped into her new role as the NGMC’s General Manager, brings with her over 18 years of experience in marketing, publishing, and accounting.
Her father, Glenn Lall, is Publisher of the country’s biggest newspaper, Kaieteur News.
“She also has experience in the manufacturing and distribution of local and international products. Ms. Lall has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Business Management.”
According to a Government statement the new GM, will oversee all aspects of the state—run
Corporation and will work towards “revamping” its image.
NGMC runs the Guyana Shop on Robb Street, which offers scores of locally produced food products.
“I want to ensure agriculture is on the forefront. We will develop new and innovative ideas to put NGMC on the map and to ensure we work on aggressively marketing our local products,” Lall said. “We will work towards fostering relationships with our farmers to ensure they continue to trust the NGMC.”
It will be the plan to ensure the NGMC continues to create regional and international markets for farmers.
This, she said, will give farmers a reason to continue farming.
“Ms. Lall stated that, in her role as GM, more focus will be placed on the logistics of getting fresh and agro-processed produce from far-flung areas to the city at an affordable cost. We will work to reduce the cost of production to make farming affordable. Most farmers have stopped planting because it has become expensive to do so…we want more farmers to start producing again,” she explained.
