Kaieteur News – After a three-year hiatus, the Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, on Friday installed the new Board of Directors for the Demerara Harbour Bridge Corporation (DHBC).
The named Board of Directors include Ravi Ramcharitar, who will serve as Chairman; Odinga Lumumba, Vice Chairman; General Manager, Rawlston Adams – (ex-officio member); Aslim Singh; Jaishree Lam; Claudette Rogers; Rafael Gonsalves and Joseph Holder.
During the simple installation ceremony on Friday, Minister Edghill charged the new board directors to provide a good service to the people of Guyana, where accountability and clear policy direction will be implemented for the maintenance and care of the bridge.
…“as Minister of Public Works, I believe in good governance and proper accountability. Therefore, it is with haste that before the Government of Guyana 100 days in office, it is our mission to have all the Boards in my sector and every other sector in place.”
He urged the Board to have the best interest of the Guyanese people at heart, while the two teams work to ensure that the bridge is maintained and continues to serve as an important link between the east and west sides.
