Kaieteur News – The body of a farmer was on Friday discovered lying in a trail at Cassie Creek, Baramita, North West District (NWD), Region One.
The corpse was identified to be that of Jonah Williams called “Wammick” also of Cassie Creek, Bartica.
According to a police report the man’s body was found with chop wounds at around 15:00 hrs.
Crime scene experts who visited the scene observed that Williams’s body bore one chop wound to his left arm and another to his left lower abdomen.
He was taken to the Baramita Health Center where the body was further examined before being transported to the Port Kaituma Hospital’s Mortuary.
Based on information received by detectives, the man was attacked and chopped to death.
A prime suspect has been identified; however, investigators have been unable to locate him for questioning.
