Non-profit organisation, the Guyana Committee of Services (GCOS) in continuing their aim of supporting athletes and teams among others, recently conclude respective training camps for athletes in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden and the Ancient County of Berbice.
On Friday last a mini competition among athletes at the Esplanade Ground in Berbice was held to bring the curtains down there; both camps were conducted following the strict guidelines outlined by the relevant authorities in keeping safe from the ravages of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Executive members of GCOS, Linden ‘Jumbie’ Jones and Leslie Blacks, both camps were aimed at assisting to keep youths in both areas focused on spending their time wisely whilst also supporting them to remain healthy.
Coach Collie Mickle organised the mini meet in Berbice which saw Jennifer Byass emerging as the Champion Girl of the day whilst the Champion Boy was Nicholas Denhart.
The GCOS has been assisting even members of the public with hampers to help ease the many challenges being encountered during these challenging times by covid-19.
