Kaieteur News – A white Toyota Allion, with number plate HD724, which was hijacked last Saturday by two armed passengers, was on Wednesday discovered vandalized and abandoned at ‘A’ Field Sophia, Georgetown.
The car, stolen at Plum Park Sophia, Georgetown, around 15:30hrs from its owner, Aszol Mohamed, 37, a taxi driver of Top Notch Taxi service, located on the West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Police ranks, acting upon information, located the car in a relatively good condition but with its number plate changed and few parts from inside missing.The car is currently at the Turkeyen Police Station where investigators are conducting the necessary investigations.
The man’s wife had told Kaieteur News that two male passengers had approached Mohamed at his base and hired him to be taken to the location.
Upon arrival, the men pulled out hand guns, beat Mohamed and threatened to shoot him if he did not step out of the car.
Fearful for his life, he obeyed and the men sped off with his car.
