DEAR EDITOR,
I would like to congratulate the President Dr. Ali for appointing Floyd Haynes to the local content team. Not only is Floyd educated at Harvard University and the University of Oxford. But he has worked extensively throughout Africa and the middle east and brings a wealth of experience to the team. Floyd is also unwavering in his belief that Guyana and Guyanese must benefit from the national patrimony. As I understand it, local content extends beyond the oil and gas industry, but rather it is ensuring that Guyanese participate equitably in all of the country’s major industries. Those of us who know him, know that Floyd is not poisoned by the tribal nature of Guyanese politics. He is a man of integrity and will make sure all Guyanese are fairly represented. He always says he represents team Guyana, and that he would serve his country if asked. I am glad the current administration saw it fit to ask him. Congrats Floyd!!
