A motorcyclist is currently in hospital nursing a fractured leg after he collided with a minibus driven by a drunken driver on Wednesday last along the Lethem Public Road, Region Nine. The serious accident took place at around 18:00hrs.
According to police, the motorcyclist, Kellon Arthur, 27, of Tabatinga, Lethem was riding along the road when the minibus, which parked behind a truck suddenly drove into his path causing the collision.
Investigators detailed that the bus driver attempted to make a U-turn without waiting to see if the road was clear or not.
As a result, Arthur could not halt his motorcycle soon enough and crashed into the front of the bus. The impact flung Arthur some distance away causing him to sustain injuries.
He was picked up by the minibus driver and rushed to the Lethem Regional Hospital where he was admitted.
Ranks, however, arrested the man and took him to do a breathalyzer test. It was found that he was above the prescribed limit of alcohol.
