Gold is Money proved unbeatable as they carted off the Dion Carter birth anniversary dominoes title which concluded on Sunday last at Turning Point.
Following their semi final victory, Gold for Money continued their fine form as they chalked 79 games to win the final, beating their closest rival F and H by nine games. Mix Up, who drew the bye to the final, finished in third position on 61 games.
Ewie Gordon and John Chance top scored for the winners with 17 and 16 games respectively while Kevin Boston and Mark Rodrigues made 17 each for F and H. Ganesh Sankar scored 17 and Tony Smith got 16 for Mix Up.
Gold for Money marked 76 games while F and H scored 70 and Big Boss 66 in the semi final. The champions were led by Toney Rebel and Ewie Gordon with 16 and 15 games in that order, while Kevin Boston chalked 15 and Hazim Hack 14 for F and H.
Big Boss leading player was Charlene Barnwell with 16 games.
Gold for Money pocketed $80,000, F and H collected $40,000 and Mix Up $20,000.
Meanwhile, senior organising secretary of the Guyana Dominoes League, Mark Wiltshire will be hosting a four-game six-sitting competition on Sunday at R and R Sports Club, 76 Meadowbrook Gardens. Entrance fee is $12,000 and action gets underway at 14:30hrs.
