Lalbachan ‘Jagan’ Bhagwandat, 29, a fisherman of Canal Number 2, West Bank Demerara (WBD), who is missing, was reportedly spotted in Westminster two weeks ago.
Bhagwandat disappeared on April 17 and has not been seen or heard from since then.
According to family members, the man had ran out of his house at around 22:30hrs that day and vanished into the Canal backlands.
Family members had searched the West Bank and West Coast areas for leads but could not locate Bhagwandat. They even made checks at Parika and Bartica.
Recently, they received a phone call that renewed their hope. The caller told the missing man’s mother that they spotted someone matching his description sitting on ‘Last Bridge’, Westminster, WBD.
The individual stated that the man he saw had long hair, was dark in complexion and “skinny” with multiple tattoos.
Family members rushed to the location immediately but did not find anyone. They searched the entire area for days.
“Up to yesterday, we were scanning the area but still no signs or trace of him,” said Bhagwandat’s mother.
Family members are continuing their search and are still offering $100,000 reward to anyone who might know the whereabouts of their son.
They detailed that Bhagwandat was suffering from mental health issues and was having delusions before he went missing.
The family members are pleading with the public to assist them in finding Bhagwandat.
