AL-MUSTAFA ISLAMIC TRUST
In the name of The Most High
The members of Al-Mustafa Islamic Trust (AMIT) are thrilled to be informed of the recent declaration of the results of the March 2, 2020 General and Regional Elections. With the submission of the long-awaited recount report by the CEO of GECOM and the subsequent declaration of the results by Madam Chairperson, the PPP/C has been announced as the winner, and His Excellency – Dr. Muhammad Irfan Ali rendered the 9th Executive President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, by the Grace of God.
We take this opportunity to call on all Guyanese to rejoice our democracy in such an auspicious time of our beautiful and diverse land, and set aside the differences in our unanimous quest to build a healthy country in this world.
Due to the recent political and legal exhaustion, Guyana has been labelled pessimistic in the global arena; it is now time for all the political parties to show their support to one another and hold each other’s hands in reversing this unfortunate label and present Guyana as a nation of “One People, One Nation, One Destiny”.
We sincerely hope and pray that the Opposition Parties wholeheartedly accept the results and selflessly support the new Government in leading a way forward cohesively for Guyana. We also take this opportunity to plead to our newly elected President, to serve his Nation and its people in a fair and transparent manner, as is widely expected from him.
Moreover, it is important that all the politicians, government and the opposition alike take note of the spiritual and economic welfare of our people. Due to the recent political crisis, Guyanese have seen a negative influence in the business and general welfare sector. With the global pandemic in play, the pressure on the people has increased and extra-ordinary protocols had to be followed for our general health and safety. To avoid further deterioration of this situation and to reimburse the damage caused, we call on all the relevant stakeholders, in public and private sectors, to answer the calls and needs of the general public indiscriminately.
Finally, we call on the general public, especially the Muslim community, to generously share what we have as a people amongst each other, and be heedful of our neighbours. God, Almighty, loves the pious, generous and the patient ones.
‘Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and bestow on us from Your mercy, for You are, indeed, the Ever-Bestower’.
REGION THREE SANATAN VAIDIC DHARMA PANDITS’ SABHA
The Sanatan Vaidic Dharma Pandits’ Sabha, Region 3 congratulates Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali on his swearing in as the ninth Executive President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and extends best wishes to him and his party on the now official declared victory at the March 2 polls.
The Sabha looks forward for disciplined and matured leadership in the new government which has before it some of the most challenging tasks including a comprehensive approach to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and the urgent arrest of a declining economy.
The Sabha once again wishes Dr. Ali’s government all success and looks forward to the fulfillment of the many life-uplifting promises upon which the party was elected.
We take the opportunity to thank the people of Guyana for their patience and resilience over the last five months as the nation had awaited the most inevitable declaration amidst a very tensed political climate.
FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT TRADE UNIONS OF GUYANA
The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Guyana (FITUG) joins in extending our sincere congratulations to His Excellency, President Dr. Mohammed Irfaan Ali as our country’s Tenth President. President Ali’s ascension to office came after an arduous five (5) month delay in the declaration of March 02, 2020 Elections. The period, though seeming relatively short, was a deeply challenging time for our nation as new waves of struggles were ignited for the preservation of our country’s democratic culture and several legal hurdles have to be overcome. Though difficult, it revealed the true character of certain leaders.
As President Ali and his PPP/C Administration take the reins of the State, they do so at a critical juncture. They must confront the global health pandemic in COVID-19 and its heavy economic tailwinds. On this score, the FITUG stands ready to work together with Dr, Ali and his team, as we must collectively steer the ship of Guyana out of the rough waters, which it currently finds itself. We are confident that our new President is up to the heavy tasks that have fallen on his shoulders as he grapples with his new office and faces up to the alleviating the burdens that affect the ordinary man, woman and child.
We, at this time, recognize former President David Granger for his service to the nation and extend best wishes to him as he moves into the next chapter of his life. As we hail our country’s new youthful, President, we must pay tribute to the thousands of Guyanese and non-Guyanese, both locally and internationally, who stood up to defend and consolidate our democracy. Our nation will forever be indebted to the many who spoke out and championed the cries of our people.
At this time, there is much work to be done and the clock is already ticking. But we are certain that our collective efforts will redound to the benefit of all Guyana. Our country is a rich, vibrant and wonderful place. Let us all collectively work to heal the wounds inflicted and together build a better and stronger Guyana.

We remain committed to supporting the democratically elected Government of Guyana and renew our call for a dedicated Ministry of Mining to recognise the value of the extractive sector.
The government must now urgently address the COVID-19 pandemic which is affecting all Guyanese including the mining sector and to let us all work together to build a prosperous and inclusive nation.
