A Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago man has been held for the murder of Guyanese national Meshach Yoel Mentore, also known as Joel.
According to a Loop TT news report, Mentore, 29, was killed on February 18, 2017 in Chaguanas.
The suspect was held over this past weekend, and investigators are expected to approach Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, for instructions on how to proceed against the suspect.
Mentore was found dead in the living room of his apartment along Henderson Street, Chaguanas. He was stabbed in the chest, and his throat had been slit.
A police report had said that around 11:15hrs, Mentore’s roommate found him in the living room of their apartment, unresponsive and bleeding from multiple stab wounds to his neck and chest.
Inspector Douglas and officers of the Chaguanas CID as well as Sgt. Ramjag and others of the Homicide Division Region III responded.
The roommate said he last saw Mentore alive around 04:00hrs when he was going to the bathroom.
Mentor, a restaurant host, was pronounced dead at the scene.
