The body of Víctor Persaud, a male of East Indian descent, was yesterday morning found at the Mon Repos Market, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
According to police reports, the man is between the ages of 50 to 60 years old and has no fixed place of abode.
Police enquiries disclosed that a female, who would normally go and check on the man, told Roopnarine Mohamed, the owner of Big K Taxi Service, that she found Persaud lying motionless underneath a stall at the market.
The businessman, after checking, immediately called the Beterverwagting Police Station and reported the matter.
Police have since processed and photographed the scene.
The body was examined for marks of violence but none was found. It was taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour.
An investigation has also been launched into the matter.
