One more person has died from Covid-19 and another positive case recorded as Guyana continues to battle the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier yesterday, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed this new development via a press release.
The latest COVID-19 fatality has been identified as a woman in her 60s.
According reports, the woman had tested positive for the virus and was reportedly admitted to the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the West Demerara Regional Hospital, West Demerara.
However, her condition worsened which caused multiple complications leading to her death on Saturday at the hospital.
Apart from this recent fatality, the total number of persons in Guyana who tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, has crept up to 291 with one new case recorded yesterday.
Fourteen persons have also recovered from the virus thus reducing the total number of active cases in the country from 140 to 126.
