DEAR EDITOR,
I have read a statement attributed to Hamilton Green: “Election and politics are not the business of Angels and Saints”.
Well, he is wrong. We go into politics to help people. But power can be intoxicating.
In the one hand, David Granger has The Christian Bible. In the other hand, he has The Guyana Constitution.
One offers salvation for the soul and a path to Heaven. The other offers power here on earth over people. Which one will he choose and is it worth it?
As The Good Book says, what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?
Yours faithfully,
Sean Ori
