Bandits on CG motorcycle escaped with cash after holding two employees of the M&M Snackette at Houston, East Bank Demerara at gunpoint at around noon yesterday.
The proprietor of the snackette said that two men pulled up on a dark coloured motorcycle and entered the outlet.
One man approached the counter and requested cane juice from one of the two employees who were present. He then asked to use the washroom but the employee explained there were none available for customers.
The ‘customer’ then forced his way through a door leading to the back of the counter. He then pulled out a hand gun, relieved both staffers of their cell phones and ordered them to lie on the ground.
The robber then emptied the cash register before exiting the snackette and escaping with his accomplice.
The proprietor was immediately contacted by his traumatized staff. He then contacted the police and shut his business for the day.
The owner also told Kaieteur News that prior to the robbery at his Houston outlet, there were two other robberies in the street adjacent to his Peter’s Hall EBD outlet.
The man claimed that he had personally made a report on behalf of the victims. The women were allegedly robbed of their cell phones and valuables by two men who rode up to them on a motorcycle.
