Some $22M worth of ganja was destroyed as police conducted another drug eradication operation up the Berbice River.
The police said that on Friday said that they destroyed acres of ganja under cultivation.
The ranks, who were led by a senior officer, conducted the exercise at Ebini and Bartica Villages.
During the eight hours operation, the police found and destroyed several acres of cannabis cultivation with more than 2000 plants and approximately 10,000 kilograms of dried cannabis.
A camp was also found and destroyed. The current street value of the narcotics destroyed is estimated to be around $21,022,800.00.
