DEAR EDITOR,
In paying tribute to the late Feroze Mohamed, former President Donald Ramotar in a letter to the press highlighted a number of outstanding qualities he possessed.
Feroze, as he is fondly called by those who knew him, was known for his modesty, integrity and humility despite his stature as a top leader of the PPP. He was Education Secretary of the Party for quite a number of years during which he contributed to the political and ideological development of a countless number of Party Comrades.
He was passionate about education. He was the PPP’s spokesman on Education in Parliament where he once famously remarked ‘ if education is too costly, try ignorance’.
Cde. Feroze will be missed by the PPP family for his wise counsel and advise on important issues both at the national and international levels. I have personally benefitted from his encouragement and guidance in so many ways.
I take this opportunity to convey my deepest condolences to his bereaved family and friends.
May his soul rest in peace!
