The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) last evening announced that there has been one new case of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). This has brought the number of confirmed cases to 74. Up to press time, the fatalities remained at eight.
In its surveillance report to the nation, the Ministry disclosed that thus far 442 persons have been tested for COVID-19, of which 368 returned negative.
Additionally, the number of persons in the Health Ministry’s institutional isolation and quarantine facilities are 54 and 23, respectively.
Meanwhile, five persons have developed worsened conditions and are now seeking further treatment in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A total of 12 persons have recovered.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are some 2.8 million cases globally, and the deaths have now exceeded 200,000.
To restrict the flow of the disease it is stressed, among other things, for persons to practice social distancing, wear a facemask while in public, and embrace sneezing and coughing etiquettes.
