The Municipality of Bartica has sent out a public advisory which states that the town must implement the “Stay Home” public advisory.
To this end, all sporting and recreational venues are ordered to be immediately closed with effect from March 28, at 6pm. These include the Bartica Community Sports Complex, Mongrippa Play Field and all parks.
In addition all taxi parks, bus parks, and taxi catchment points have been closed. Taxis can be contacted through their bases and direct lines, while buses are allowed to work on rotation.
It is highly recommended that there be no gathering at bars, restaurants, gambling establishments, game shops, barber shops, etc, the municipality has announced.
It is also advised that businesses use delivery and drive through services where applicable to avoid the risk of the virus.
Further, there is also a recommendation for sanitization stations to be operable at all essential businesses and that residents sanitize regularly.
This order is valid for a period of two weeks ending on April 10, 2020.
