A woman who has been identified as a nurse from East Canje, Berbice, yesterday afternoon crashed into the recently completed zinc fence of the Welfare Center Ground in her community.
According to reports Nurse Phylis Samaroo narrowly escaped with minor injuries.
While details of the accident remain sketchy, Kaieteur News understands that the female driver was proceeding at a fast rate when she lost control of her Toyota Axela bearing license plate PWW 2070 and smashed through the fence. Upon hearing the impact, persons living nearby rushed out to render assistance.
However, the nurse, who this publication confirmed was the lone occupant of the vehicle, managed to free herself.
She is currently seeking medical attention.
