Khan’s Trading Enterprise defeated Second Street by eight runs when the teams collided in a six-over softball fixture on Sunday last at Farm, East Bank Demerara.
Batting first, Khan’s Trading Enterprise posted 61 without loss after six overs. Czamme Reid struck three fours in a top score of 24, while Joy La Rose made 15. Second Street responded with 53-2 in six overs. Sharlene La Rose made 24 with two fours, while Narine Denisa scored 10 not out; Fazeela Khan took 1-7.
Reid received a prize for the highest individual score, while Khan took the best bowler accolade and Lisa Kissoon collected the best fielder prize. Khan’s Trading Enterprise received a trophy and $20,000 and Second Street a trophy and $15,000.
The game was organised as part of a day-of-sport sponsored by Khan’s Trading Enterprise of Herstelling.
