As Caribbean teams continue preparations ahead of the 2020 edition of the West Indies Fullbore Shooting Championships (WIFBSC) set for Antigua and Barbuda in May, the Barbados Rifle Association (BRA) this past weekend hosted a team from the Royal Air Force Target Rife Club (RAFTRC) at the Paragon Ranges; the first leg of a two nation tour.
An official of the BRA informed that the standard of the scores on the weekend was reflective of a high standard, all things being considered and they have been planning same for the past 18 months.
“The weather was very good (a gentle breeze constant from the left when you are on the left of the bank, and a constant breeze from the right, when you are on the right bank. No rain. Not too hot for the visitors.”
Competition on Saturday and Sunday saw the riflemen and women taking aim at the 300, 500 and 600 yards ranges. The RAFTRC team consisted of, Christopher Fitzpatrick (Tour Manager), David Calvert, Scott Glanville, Michael Silver, Michael Gregory, David Niblett, Jim Lindsay, Christopher Hockley, Steve Green, Jonathan Ford and Karen Ryan.
