Play in the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA), Price Is Right Supermarket T20 cricket Knock Out cricket Competition for teams in the Upper Corentyne and Black Bush Areas continued last Sunday with seven matches.
Results of matches played saw Crabwood Creek Sports Club edging out No.73 Young Warriors by 1 run after making 143-6 in their 20 overs with B. Sukhan 51 and L. Seegobin 32. Bowling for No 73 YW E. Mohammed took 2 wickets as they replied with 142 with O. Singh 25, C. Pooran 20. Bowling for CWC SC Q. Khan 3 and J. Singh took 2 wickets.
No70 A Spartans made 122-8 to beat No 64 Fighting Marines with 58 all out by 64 runs. Top scorers for No 70 A were M. Deochand 38 and A. Persaud 28. Bowling for Fighting Marines there were 3 wickets for R. Subhan and 2 for S. Khan. Leonard Sandy made 35 in their reply.
Omesha Mathura picked up 4 wickets, N. Yakoob took 3 and O. Khemraj 2 wickets for the winners.
No 72 Cut and Load defeated No72 All Stars by 29 runs.
Cut and Load 158-9 V Persaud 47, O. Persaud 31and M. Bhoj 30; P. Gobin, S. Singh and A. Harripersaud took 2 wickets each for No 72 All Stars who in reply made 129 with O. Harripersaud scored 42. Bowling for Cut and Load N. Alli took 3 wickets, Davenand and Davendra Chatterpaul and R. Persaud 2 each.
No 69 Red Rose won from No 43 Scorpions by 11 runs after making 80 with R. Ramsingh 21. Bowling for Scorpions C. Drepaul and P. Phaghoo took 3 wickets each, A. Honsenkas 2. No 43 Red Scorpions made 69.
Dukeston Warriors with 73, K. Beresford 26 edged Skeldon Titans 70 by 3 runs. Bowling for Skeldon H. Hosssein took 3, M. Bacchus and C. Felix 2 each. They in reply made 70. Clevland Beresford took 3 wickets, while Sherwin Murray and Wayne Garnett 2 each bowling for Dukestown.
No 68 Turn Team 110-3, G. Persaud 50 to edge No 69 Vikings 106-8; S. Pasram 24, V. Gooniah 21 by 4 runs. Bowling for 68 Turn Team there were 2 wickets each for H. Ramroop and T. Persaud.
Scottsburg United defeated No 73 Mandir by 66 runs. Scottsburg made 133 with Nocolai Ceres 30 and S. Khan 28. Bowling for No 73 Mandir K. Drup 2 wickets, they were bowled out for 67. S. Khan picked up 5 and S. Rasheed 2 wickets bowling for Scottsburg.
The competition is expected to continue today with three more matches at the quarter final stage. Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams as well as outstanding individual performers.
The UCCA is being led by businessman Dennis D’Andrade. The competition is being coordinated by the UCCA competitions committee which is being led former National wicketkeeper batsman Sydney Jackman. (Samuel Whyte)
