The Association do Shotokan Karate – Guyana held their national tournament last week Sunday at the YMCA on Thomas Lands and Camp Street.
In the open male black belt division, Roger Peroune was a class above his competitors winning both the Kata and Kumite divisions, while Kaieteur News’ Angelo Harris was second in the Kumite followed by Charles Benjamin and Avinash Ramlogan.
Ramlogan was runner-up in the Kata followed by Benjamin and Charles.
In the female open, which was a purple belt showdown, Zulima Bell and Teshana Lake shared honours in the Kata and Kumite, respectively.
