The newly elected executive committee of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club, under the presidency of Vemen Walter met recently and named the Club’s various Sub-Committees, captains and vice-captains of the Club’s respective teams among for the year 2020.
The selection committee will be chaired by Walter and will include Vice President Orvin Mangru and Roger Mc Donald, along with the manager and captain of the respective teams.
Imtiaz Bacchus, the Club’s Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, heads the Disciplinary Committee with Prem Khanai and Karamchand Harripersaud being the other members.
Mangru will chair the Cricket Development Committee with Khanai and West Indies Leg-Spinner Devendra Bishoo making up the reminder of that committee.
Treasurer David Brigbhukan is the chairman of the fund-raising committee which also comprises of Bacchus, Mangru, Khanai and Harripersaud. This committee will be allowed to incorporate other members.
West Indies left-arm-spinner Veerasammy Permaul was re-appointed as captain of the Club’s First Division Team with fellow West Indies spinner Devendra Bishoo as his deputy. In the event that both Permaul and Bishoo are unavailable, Gudakesh Motie or Anthony Bramble will lead the team.
Sharaz Ramcharran will captain the Club’s Second Division Team with Adrian Sukhwa as his deputy. Wicketkeeper/batsman Rayaad Karim will captain the Club’s U 21 Team with national Under 19 left-arm-spinner Kelvin Umroa his vice-captain.
Karim and Sarwan Chaitnarine are the captain and vice-captain respectively of the U19 team while Tameshwar Mahadeo will captain the U 17 Team with Damien Cecil his deputy.
Cecil is the Club’s U 15 captain with Kumar Deopersaud as the vice-captain while Devin Lalbehari and Ritesh Natoor is the captain and vice-captain respectively of the Club’s U13 team.
The Club’s various teams will be managed by Omarnauth Outar with Khanai and Brigbhukan providing assistance.
Walter and Outar will represent the Club at the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) level with Outar and Mangru being the Club’s two representatives on the Albion Community Centre Council.
Brigbhukan was also re-appointed the Club’s Public Relations Officer (PRO).
