The Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) will host its annual Phagwah meet on March 29 at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
Six races are carded for the day with the feature event being the C and Lower race which covers a distance of one mile and carries a top prize of $600,000 with the runner up taking home $300,000, third place pocketing $150,000 and fourth place $75,000.
Other races carded are K-non winner and L open for six furlongs and fetches a winning purse of $120,000 while the runner up will take home $60,000, third place $30,000 and fourth place $15,000, H3-winner of one race and Guy bred open, this goes for a distance of seven furs and will see the winner carting off $250,000, runner up $125,000, third place $63,000 and fourth place $32,000.
L-non earners at the five recognise track; this event will cover a distance of five furs with the champion taking home $100,000, runner up $50,000, third place $25,000 and fourth place $13,000.
J3 and lower for a distance of six furs; first place will pocket $160,000, runner up $80,000, third place $40,000 and fourth place $20,000.
Three years old Guyana bred open; this race will goes for seven furs with the winner collecting $250,000, runner up $125,000, third place $63,000 and fourth place $32,000.
The races will run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority and entries will be closed on March 22. No late entries will be accepted. Entries can be made through Ivan Dipnarine 331 0316, Mr. Kennard 623 7609, Fazal Habibulla 657 7010, Dennis Deroop 640 6396 and Campton Sancho 691 1174.
