A hunt has been launched for a man known as ‘Scarface’ and an accomplice in connection with an armed robbery on a Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara (ECD) supermarket Thursday last.

The robbery occurred at around 18:30 hours while shoppers were still inside of the business place. According to a police report, ‘Scarface’ and his accomplice, calmly walked into Monica’s Supermarket located at Lot 290 Block ‘12 Non Pareil, ECD. One man had a gun.
From CCTV footage seen by Kaieteur News, the men parked their motorcycle outside of the store and entered wearing racing helmets.
In the footage, a shopper could be seen with her young son when the men walked in and one of the suspects immediately pulled out a gun.
While the gunman stood guard, his accomplice headed straight to the cashier’s table.
The men removed an undisclosed number of GTT and Digicel Phone cards, along with Landline cards and the money earned that day.
Both suspects then exited and escaped on a black and red XR motorcycle, which had no number plate.
Police sources said that the individual known as ‘Scarface’ is a suspect in several robberies.
