Fyrish, Tamarind Root, Kennard Memorial, Belvedere, Albion Open, Ramnarine Memorial among first round winners
The Berbice Cricket Board very packed schedule for 2020 continued on Sunday last with the opening round of the Premium Asphalt and T/R Construction 20/20 Second Division Tournament. The tournament is been played with nineteen teams from the Lower Corentyne/ Central Corentyne area. Berbice cricket power houses RHTYSC, MS and Albion CC along with their cricketers have been debarred from participating in the tournament in an effort to allow other clubs an opportunity to win a championship.
Fyrish, Tamarind Root, Belvedere United, Kennard Memorial, Albion Open and Ramnarine Memorial were the teams to advance to the second round, while Courtland was knocked out of the tournament due to the fact that they played an unauthorized cricketer. The Competition Committee of the BCB also ordered a replay of the Rose Hall Town Tigers and Kilcoy match after Kilcoy was found guilty of playing a player in non-cricketing attire.
