Raashad Gafoor, Nathan Kistama, Romeo Deonarine, R. Budhana, Keiron George and Afraz Budhoo, among top performers in round 1 and 2
The Berbice Cricket Board has started early preparation for the 2020 GCB Inter County Under-15 tournaments by hosting the Lewison General Store Under-15 tournament. Fourteen team divided into three zones are contesting the tournament, which would be used by the Balram Samaroo Berbice Led Selection Committee to select a 30-man training squad to participate in two trial matches. At the end of the first two rounds of the tournament- Albion, Blairmont and Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes have played unbeaten. Raashad Gafoor scored the only century to date, while Nathan Kistama, Romeo Deonarine, R. Budhana, Keiron George claimed five wickets haul.
1. Albion defeated Port Mourant by 32 runs.
Albion – 62 all out in 30 overs – Damion Cecil 14. R. Budhana 6 for 21, J. Latchman 2 for 8 and Salim Khan 2 for 11.
Port Mourant – 30 all out – Rampertab Ramnauth 24. A record nine batsmen were dismissed for nought. Afraz Budhoo 5 for 8, Anthonio Ramphal 2 for 19 and Shiv Harripersaud 2 for 1.
2. At Blairmont, the home team defeated Achievers by 229 runs.
Blairmont 289 for 3 in 45 overs – Rashaad Gafoor 140 not out, Romeo Deonarine 56 and Collis Harcourt 2 for 48.
Achievers 60 all out in 26 overs – Tousaint Connelly 16, Neville David 10: R. Gafoor 3 for 5 and Sayaad Ishmail 3 for 4.
3. At Blairmont, Paradise lost to Blairmont by 143 runs.
Blairmont 217 all out from 49 overs – Romeo Deonarine 40, Arun Jaikarran 37 and Rashaad Gafoor 20. Extras 77. R. Mc Donald 2 for 31 and Russell Wilson 2 for 16.
Achievers 75 all out in 17.3 overs – Daniel Ramoutar 36. Romeo Deonarine 5 for 34 and Sajaad Ishmail 3 for 15.
4. Edinburgh defeated East Bank Blazers by nine runs.
Edinburgh 83 all out in 20 overs -Troy David 14 and Danesh Persaud 11. S. Gafoor 3 for 31 and Eson Ellis 3 for 22.
East Bank Blazers 75 all out in 15 overs. J. Kesney 16, Roberto Vankendin 11. David Fraser 4 for 18 and Keiron George 5 for 18.
5. At No72 Cut and Load Ground, Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes Ltd got pass No73/ Scottsburg by five wickets.
No73/Scottsburg- 57 all out in 21 overs – Tomesh Hemraj 21. Nathan Kistama 4 for 15, Matthew Pottaya 3 for 02 and Khemraj Tika 2 for 16.
RHTFM- 58 for 5 in 15.2 overs – Sahail Hardwar 15 not out. T. Doobay 2 for 17 and L. Singh 2 for 15.
At the Area H Ground, RHT Farfan and Mendes Ltd crushed No19 Kendall Union by 238 runs.
RHTFM 274 for 7 in 45 overs- Nyron Hicks 74, Raphael Fraser 60. G. Harris 4 for 36 and D. Etwaroo 2 for 20.
No19 Kendall Union 37 all out- Nathan Kistama 5 for 8, Matthew Pottaya 2 for 3.
7. At Albion, Albion defeated No19 defeated Kendall Union by 207 runs.
Albion 266 all out in 48 overs – Tameshwar Mangal 23, Afrizal Kadir 28 and Kumar Deopersaud 34. G. Harris 2 for 39 and K. Premnanand 2 for 45.
No19 Kendall Union- 59 all out – B. Saul 15. Anthonio Ramphal 2 for 13 and Yuvraj Nazir 2 for 6.
8. Tucber Park got passed East Bank Blazers by 50 runs.
Tucber Park 85 all out in 22.4 overs – G. Kisten 15 and A. Henry 14. J. Kensey 3 for 10 and E. Ellis 2 for 5.
East Bank Blazers 38 all out in 15 overs. Gavin Kisten 4 for 5, Dellon Endore 3 for 7 and David Palandi 2 for 4.
