After being put on hold due to the inclement weather, the Trophy Stall and Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) Under-19 Inter club cricket Tournament resumed over the weekend with one game in the fifth round.
In the game that was played at No73, Young Warriors whipped No73 Mandir by 161 runs at the No73 Young Warriors ground.
No73 Young Warriors batted first and made 265 all out in 49 overs with Niradj Singh 79, Victori Latchman 35, Danesh Latchman 28, Tamesh Hemraj 17, Raul Jabbar 17 Sarwan Chairnarine 16 and Nicholus Tamer 15.
Andrew Tahal and T. Doobay took 2 wickets bowling for No73 Mandir who were dismissed for 104 in 13 overs with K. Heera 34, Andrew Tahal 24 and C. Ramdass 14.
Doing the damage for No73 Young Warriors was Raul Jabbar with 6-29 and he was supported by Ethan Odell with 3-13.
Six teams are participating in the competition the others being Scottsburg United, No72 Cut and Load, No43 Scorpions, and No52 Cricket Club.
The tournament which is being sponsored by the Trophy Stall, Port Mourant branch through the generosity of Managing Director Ramesh Sunich is being played on a 50 overs one day format.
The top teams at the end of the preliminary matches will advance to the semifinals with the winners clashing in the final.
The competition is being coordinated by former National Wicketkeeper batsman Sydney Jackman. (Samuel Whyte)
