Georgetown Cricket Club defeated Rising Star of Essequibo Coast by seven wickets when the teams collided in a 40-over contest on Sunday last at
Bourda. Batting first, Rising Star posted 147 all out in 29.5 overs.
Latchman Rohit led with 43 which included six fours and two sixes while Otis Roberts made 34 with two fours and three sixes. The pair added 68 for the third wicket after Stephon Wilson removed both openers for nine each, leaving the score on 30-2.
Wilson, Bernard Bailey, Devon Lord and Ronaldo Ali Mohamed picked up two wickets each. GCC responded with 148-3 in 22.4 overs. Ali Mohamed slammed five fours and six sixes in a top score of 85 while Martin Pestano Bell made 50 not out with three fours and one six.
