The Guyana Mixed Martial Karate Association resumed their classes at the Iron Fist Marital Arts Academy Located at the New/Diamond Grove Primary School this past week. Master Lloyd Ramnarine along with students gathered to take a photo for the New Year.
Master Lloyd Ramnarine said that 2019 was a very successful year in terms of martial arts and he enjoyed teaching the children, due to the crime rates in Guyana. Currently he has registered his Association with The World Karate Marital Arts Organization (WKMO), International Karate Association (IKO) and North American Marital Arts Federation (NAFMA).
Master Lloyd Ramnarine had spoken with residents of Sophia and plan to open three clubs there and they are very happy that he is introducing one of the most disciplined sports in the community. He has also spoken to residents of Soesdyke.
Presently there are five functioning branches which includes Red Dragon Marital Arts Academy Located at The Belle West Primary School, Invisible Kicks Marital Arts Academy Located in Parfait Harmonie, Vreed en Hoop Marital Arts Academy Located at The Vreed en Hoop Primary School, Alberttown Marital Arts Academy Located at 71 Light Street Alberttown and the Iron Fist Marital Arts Academy Located at the New/Diamond Grove Primary School.
“I would like my Beautiful Guyanese people to know that karate is not a violent sport, it’s all about discipline, self control and most of all self defence. I would like to encourage young girls and women to get themselves involved in martial arts schools, not only to learn discipline but form people who come into their lives and criminals,” Master Ramnarine informed.
“If anyone wishes to join any of the branches listed don’t hesitate to make contact with us on 698-6727/673-0823/698-7456/681-1701 or check us out on Facebook at GMMAKA,” a release from the organisation stated.
