Colin Mc Ewan Jr. emerged champion (King) of Orrin Boston and Friends last Sunday 2019 Pull-A -Rama Dominoes competition which was contested recently at Turning Point.
There was a prompt start to the competition as registration closed at 15:00hrs and the drawing commenced.
A total 51 players faced the starting line, after seven rounds of elimination four players remained, with only John Chance being the starting line favourite. His fortune was further boosted since he was the only player who did not get a bye up to that point and therefore was sent straight to the final. In the semi finals, Rawle Cameron was eliminated, but being the losing semi finalist he was assured of the 4th prize of $20,000.
In the final, Dark Horse, Colin Mc Ewan Jr. made an early break for the tape and never relinquished it and simply dominated it. However, there was a tight tussle as to who will finish second and third between John Chance, who was first rated as favourites to win the final and veteran Winston Joseph. While Colin Mc Ewan Jr. marked the required nine games, Chance and Joseph were locked on five each.
However, from the cards they had remaining, John Chance had one point less, clinching second place and Joseph has to settle for third. Mc Ewan Jr. took home $85,000 and the King trophy, Chance pocketed $40,000 and Joseph $30,000.
Boston has expressed gratitude to the sponsors.
