Keon Estreado, called “Mouse”, 32, a miner of Lot 2 Farm Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, has been remanded to jail on a charge of attempt murder.
He was charged with attempting to kill Samuette Hardcourt ,20, his common law wife of Lichfield Village, West Coast Berbice. The incident is said to have occurred on December 22, at Lichfield Village, West Coast Berbice.
The man appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh in the Fort Wellington Magistrate Court and was not required to plea. He was remanded to jail until the 23 January when the matter will be heard again in the Weldaad Magistrate’s Court.
The accused and victim are in a common law relationship and were living at Mahaicony. On the day in question the two were at Lichfield when a misunderstanding developed between them.
Estreado allegedly took a knife and stabbed the victim on her right breast. She was also stabbed under the said breast and chopped on her nose.
Her alleged attacker then ran away while the victim was taken to the Fort Wellington hospital by her uncles. She was later transferred to New Amsterdam.
The matter was reported and Estreado was arrested and charged.
