President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association and Vice-President of CWI, Dr. Kishore Shallow delivered the feature address and told the gathering, which included several past and present West Indies players including West Indies Women’s Selector Travis Dowlin, that the CWI has adopted a policy of putting their players first and apologised to Shiv Chanderpaul for the way he was treated by the past administration.
The 36-year-old Shallow, who previously served as a CWI Director, replaced Dominican Emmanuel Nathan at the last CWI elections, noted it is always difficult playing India home but was pleased to see the fight this team has showed in the ODI series as it strives to get back to the hei
ghts of Clive Lloyd’s team.
Shallow praised the local franchise system and he felt that this was among the reasons Guyana is producing good young players and winning the four-day title for fifth consecutive time, this year whilst pondering on the good performances of Hetmyer, Paul, Shepherd and Nedd among others in the various West Indies teams.
