Inaugural Champions; Shiva boys’ Hindu College of Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) marched into the semifinals of the second annual KFC Goodwill football tournament after dumping Annandale Secondary 6-2 yesterday at the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) National Training Center at Providence.

The Trinidadians continued to prove that they are a cut above the local lads with a good demonstration of football in their come from behind win and their target man; Adica Ash, led the charge from the front line with both guile and power, dribbling and forcing his way through Annandale’s final third on numerous occasions but only scoring twice.
Jamal Lewis also netted a brace for the 2017 T&T school league champions, while Flex Lewis and Nigel Carraby netted once each.
Annandale, 2018 Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers school league champions, were never going to just lay off and they ensured they netted two goals before being booted from this goodwill tournament that will conclude this Sunday at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Junior Harrigon scored the first goal of the match in the 13th minute and he would have eventually been disappointed to see his team go on to lose 6-2 in a match that they needed to win to ascend to the semifinal round. Omari Glasgow with all his flair on the wing managed only one goal in the contest which was his side’s second and when he netted in the 73rd minute, the East Coast lads had already conceded five goals at that point.
DC Caesar Fox Secondary, which is more popularly known as Waramadong, like the T&T lads, won their second game of the group-robin stage after putting an expected 4-0 thrashing on Marian Academy to send them packing out of the tournament.
Waramadong had four different scorers in the 4-0 win; Carlito Joseph (15th), Yasir Abraham (51st), Melee George (57th) and Odvid Andrews (85th).
The semifinal round is slated to be contested under lights tomorrow at the MOE ground beginning at 17:00hrs. The first match will see Shiva boys’ matching skills with Lodge Secondary that won the just concluded Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers school football tourney.
The feature showdown will be anticipated face-off featuring Annai Secondary and DC Caesar Fox.
