With the Guyana Police Force (GPF) gearing up to contest Sunday’s feature match of the opening double header of the GFF Super 16 Cup at Ever Leary, the law enforcement team believes that their opponent, East Bank Football Association side Timehri Panthers, do not stand a chance.
Boasting a star studded line up which include guest player, Golden Jaguar, Trayon Bobb, GPF Club Secretary, Ronald Ali shared that while the weather is a challenge, they are of the firm belief that the Panthers would not pose any challenge for his charges as they aim to win the 2019/2020 edition of the championship.
Training he said would have been progressing well for the GFF Elite League side and while they would not be taking the Timehri Panthers side for granted, he has a potent line-up to take them into the quarter finals.
Some of the other players on the GPF list are Pernel Schultz, Daniel Wilson, Jermain Junior, Jamal Harvey and William Europe.
Manager of Timehri Panthers, Clayton Lambert Sr., shared that his side team has been putting in the hours to ensure that they are in the best possible shape ahead of this important first hurdle. They ha
ve been utalising their home ground, Timehri Red Ground and the Guyana Football Federation National Training Center at Providence.In charge of their technical and tactical preparations is former National player, Gordon ‘Ultimate Warrior’ Braithwaite and his assistant, Colin David. Some thirty (30) players would have been in training before the club narrowed down their list to twenty-five inclusive of their three guest players,
Kellon Major, Lloyd Matthews and Colin Seymour. A number of exciting young players would be combining energies with a few seniors as they embark on the journey of winning this prestigious championship.
Among them are Ronaldo Blair, Shanon Samnauth, the Khan Brothers Tyrel and Tyrone, Prince Forde and Ishmael Pulsaram. Lambert stated: “Team confidence is high and the Panthers will like to assure fans that they will give a good account of themselves come Sunday night.”
