Proceeds garnered from recent Domino competition
With the proceeds garnered from a recent domino competition, host, Lions Club of Belair and sponsors, Creative Jewellery and Pawn Shop,
President of Lions Club of Belair Mrs. Candace Forde (2nd left) hands over one of the benches to Commissioner Protected Area Commission, Ms. Denise Fraser in the presence of Mrs. Denise Bentick (General Manager Protected Area Commission), Mr. Walter Rodney (Manager, National Park) and Mrs. Foluso Vangroigen (Chairperson Environmental Committee- Lions Club of Belair).
International Imports & Supplies and Radar Securities have donated three branded benches to the National Park as part of the Lions Club Environmental Committees commitment.
President of the Lions Club of Belair, Mrs. Candace Forde who made the official presentation to Ms. Denise Fraser, Commissioner Protected Area Commission, noted at the handing over that the donation adds to the beautification of the National Park.
”The Lions of Belair is pleased to collaborate with our partners to install these benches, which we trust will improve the comfort and experience of everyone that visits the National Park. We believe that safe and comfortable recreational spaces are essential to the overall quality of life for all Guyanese. I therefore take this opportunity to encourage all stakeholders to undertake similar initiatives across Guyana.”
The domino competition had attracted some 17 teams and was keenly contested.
