Gold is Money chalked up 82 games to win the final of the Champion of Champions 2 Dominos competition which culminated recently at All Season’s
Sports Club, Ogle. Clearance Whitehead made the maximum of 18 games for the winners while John Chance supported with 17.
OPKO took the second place tallying 79 games with Dexter Sue and Paul Rahaman scoring 17 and 14 games respectively. Phantom placed third on 60 games; Ronald Charles made 16 games and Orin Sandy 14. Whitehead was named man-of-the-match.
Earlier, Gold is Money, OPKO and Phantom registered victories in their respective matches to advance to the final. Gold is Money marked 84 games to beat All Season’s Angels and Gangster. Shawn Morgan and Clearance Whitehead made 17 games each for the winners while Ron Callendar scored 16 and Barbara Marshall got 15 for All Season’s Angels.
Shellon Collymore marked 16 and Sevens Collymore 14 for Gangster. OPKO posted 80 games to win their eliminator against Fresh Cash with 77 and Providence on 70. Clive Xavier made the maximum 18 games while John Clarke contributed 16 for the victors while Ewie Gordon and Leroy Edwards made 15 apiece for Fresh Cash; Junior Smith and Ian Davis were Providence leading players with 17 and 16 games respectively.
Phantom chalked 85 games to emerge winners in their contest against Big Boss 83 and Mix Up 79. Frank Solomon led the scoring for Phantom with 16 games while Orin Sandy made 15. Big Boss were spearheaded by Loraine Reid with 17 and Charlene Barnwell 15; Gilbert Mendonca and Navin Singh scored 15 and 14 games in that order for Mix Up.
Gold is Money received a trophy and $150,000; OPKO collected a trophy and $75,000 and Phantom a trophy and $50,000.
