Andrew Samaroo and Josh Alves in impressive opening stand
Carmel Secondary School recorded two wins in their opening matches of the AL Sport & Tour Promotions – National Sports Commission best of 3
Windball Cricket tournament against Cummings Lodge Secondary in the A. Munroe organised event played at the Gymnasium.
The Carmel Boys opened proceedings and Cummings Lodge batted first and scored 76-3 with Bholanauth Indar 27 and Josh Alves 23.
Carmel replied with 80-0 as Jamal Dos Santos slammed 52.
In the Girls department: Cummings Lodge made 78-1 with Takeisha Mentore 50.
Carmel replied with 82-1; Aliayha Johnson 48, Donilla Thom 20 and Shania Peters 16 were the top scorers.
In Round 2: Males: Cummings Lodge after been invited to bat first scored 168-0, with Andrew Samaroo 103 (13×6) and Josh Alves 53 as they put together an impressive opening stand.
Carmel in their turn in the centre made 90-4; Matthew Layne 38 and Jamal Dos Santos 20. Samaroo returned to take 2 wickets.
Among the Girls: Cummings Lodge hit 72-0 with Sarah Amin 42 and Takeisha Mentore 22.
Carmel fell short at 67-1; Aliayha Johnson made 24 and Donilla Thom 14.
