GECOM is testing the patience of the Guyanese people

How much more patience does GECOM expect the Guyanese people to have? Why is the GECOM chair still so silent? Should she not be giving weekly updates? Why are we hearing from individual commissioners who do not seem to speak with any authority?
From latest reports, it seems as if the House-to-House registration based on an order from an illegal Chair, and a Chief Elections Officer willing to oblige zestfully, is creating a big mess in the preparation of the Voters List.
After spending billions, instead of giving us a cleaner list, it seems poised to create major confusion with much potential for fraudulent actions, widespread elections day snafus, and enormous rigging potential.
Why are they still speculating about dead people on the list and for ID cards not collected?
Have they not yet run the list of dead people with the list of uncollected cards and current voters’ list?
What are they waiting for? Have these jokers not gotten the list of dead people from the General Register Office and removed those dead people from the current list?
What has the staffers been doing all along and since December 2018? Can GECOM tell the nation if the old ID cards are still going to be valid, and whether people who re-registered in the House-to-House are now going to have two ID cards?
And all those newbie “paper parties” with no known support – should they not been joining their voices with the PPP to put pressure on GECOM to produce a clean, proper list? Lucky for the nation, the PPP is always battling for us for free and fair elections, given the PNCR’s history of ‘riggeritis’.
It is quite alarming that the man in the street thinks the PNCR will try to rig the elections to stay in power, just like the old days. They simply do not have any trust in GECOM and the PNCR. The PNCR has tarnished its reputation by extending itself in power for an extra 15 months, with willing assistance from GECOM’s collusion and connivance.
The GECOM process is still in a big mess, and Chief Plenarist/illegal President Granger has not dissolved Parliament. Are there more tricks up their sleeves? We call on the GECOM Chair to move things along.
The nation trusted that you will bring order to GECOM. Please don’t let us down.
