The Young Guns Sports Club developmental programme for Under 15 male and all age female cricketers culminated on Sunday last with a 20-over
two innings game which saw Abrams Zuil Secondary U15 male team getting the better of the Open female XI by seven wickets at the New Opportunity Corps ground on the Essequibo Coast.
Batting first the Open female XI managed 68 all out. Analesia D’Aguiar scored 24 with three fours while Kumarie Persaud made 17. Benny Persaud grabbed 4 for 11.
Abrams Zuil Secondary responded with 69; Benny Persaud made 30 with four fours and Royden Morris 14. Nathalie Chaitram claimed 3 for 9. Batting second time, the Open female XI made 71; Analesia D’Aguiar led with 32 which included three fours and one six.
Set 71 to win, Abrams Zuil Secondary reached their target for the loss of four wickets, Kemual Henry scored 19 not out with one four and one six while Ramesh Seeram made 13 not out. D’Aguiar, Divine Ross and Kumarie Persaud had one wicket each.
Abrams Zuil Secondary received a trophy donated by Patrick Rooplall. Benny Persaud and Analesia D’Aguiar were given trophies for their performances. The programme was organized by Coach Forbes Daniels and Debra Daniels. They have expressed gratitude to the staff of NOC for their support.
