Although deterred four nights before, three thieves returned to finish what they started; carting off a Herstelling businessman’s motorcycle. The businessman is however, thanking his lucky stars that no harm came to his family.
Paul Sookram disclosed to Kaieteur News that on Tuesday morning, his wife went outside to the balcony and noticed that the front gate of their lot 478 Fourth Street, Herstelling home was left opened.
Being certain that she secured it the previous evening, they decided to run the CCTV cameras and made a shocking discovery.
Around 03:15 hrs Monday, the men entered the yard using the back entrance.
“Two come in from the front and they cut the padlock,” Sookram said.
According to him, the footage showed minutes later, one of the other thieves rolling his motorcycle with registration number CJ 1175 out the front gate.
“The bike was parked in the back between two cars and them man just roll it out the front gate like them own it.”
Sookram noted that just a mere four days earlier, it appears that the men made their first attempt at stealing the motorcycle.
“Like four days before, a neighba wake me up saying somebody deh in front we yard looking strange. After we wake and make noise, they move and is like they come back now and get to thief the bike.”
A report was made and police are currently investigating.
