Deodass wins group three and Starlet Cup
Following the awards ceremony on Monday night at Parc Rayne, it was announced that Andrew King, the 2017 & 2018, CMRC group 4 Champion,
successfully defended his group 4 crown after dominating the local circuit this year, while Matthew Vieira retained the Superstock championships.
While it was team Mohamed’s Enterprise that showed the best form on Sunday, Vieira finished with one third and two fourth place finishes ensuring that the championship remained with him.
Motilall Deodass was victorious in the group three and the Choke Starlet Cup. The Motor Trend sponsored Toyota Starlet was in fine form all year, being more reliable than the rest of the group to win the championship.
In addition to the trophy, Deodass also received $500,000 from the group’s title sponsor CHOKE gas station.
In group two action, Shan Seejattan and his K20 powered Special Auto Honda Civic picked up the overall win for this class ahead of Chet Singh and Paul Viera; but that was not without a fight on the day.
Seejattan, like many others had amassed a decent cushion heading into the final round but still walked away with podium finishes on the night.
In that class, there were wins for Rameez Mohamed, Ahmed Esuf (Barbados) and Vieira.
In addition to the trophy, Seejattan won a ticket to Miami compliments of Executive Travel Service.
Mohamed F. Ahmad was crowned the champion of the Miracle Optical Sport Tuner group. The Honda Civic driver was on the podium for all three races of the weekend. Ahmed pocketed $500,000 dollars from series sponsor Miracle Optical for his win.
Raymond Seebarran added another championship trophy to his cabinet with the Prem’s Electrical Street Tuner win. The former karting champion secured $500,000 dollars from Prem’s Electrical for is fantastic showing.
Dwayne Ceasar won the Street bike class with one win and one second place finish on Sunday. The weather was not conducive to have them complete the final race of the day, but the eventual champion had already snagged the title. He pocked USD150 dollars from Cyril’s Taxi and USD $200 from Windjammer International Hotel & Cuisine.
