The ‘Clash of Champions’ race meet which is organised by the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) was launched on Tuesday at GT Motorsports where various sponsors pledged their support for the two-day international race meet that will speed off on November 16-17 at the South Dakota Circuit.

Corporate Commutations Officer of ANSA McAL Trading, Treiston Joseph, stated STAG Beer will continue be a supporter of motor-racing in Guyana. He called on persons to come out and enjoy the races, but do so responsibly.
Operations Manager of KFC Guyana, Greg De Gannes, expressed that the progression of the sport and talents, which present a bright future, have motivated them to continue the partnership.
Meanwhile, Director General at the Ministry of Tourism, Donald Sinclair, outlined the influx of persons that enters the country is a great indicator of the impact Sport Tourism has on the country.
Carey Griffith, an executive of the GMR&SC, called for persons to abide by the rules of the day and respect the Marshals’ decisions. He further encouraged persons to attend the event early and most importantly have a designated driver if they plan to consume alcohol.
Despite no Caribbean Motor Racing Championships this year, the GMR&SC has still attracted competitors from Jamaica, Barbados, United States of America, England and Trinidad and Tobago.
Other major sponsors are: B.M Soat Auto Sales, Mohamed’s Enterprise, Tropical Shipping, MOTUL, ExxonMobil, Japarts, Air Services and Valvoline that recently confirmed sponsorship for former Starlet Cup champion, Motielall Deodass.
Adult tickets cost $2,000 and children Under-10 will be admitted free.
