Deoram, Bovell slam centuries as WDCA Beacon Café 50-over continues
Centuries from Deoram Chanderbir and Floyd Bovell highlighted the latest round of matches in the West Demerara Cricket Association Beacon Café 50-over competition on Sunday last.

At Windsor Forest, Windsor Forest CC ‘A’ defeated Windsor Forest CC ‘B’ by 171 runs. Windsor Forest ‘A’ opted to bat and posted a 272 all out in 49.1 overs. Deoram Chanderbir slammed two fours and nine sixes in a fine 101, while Kishan Tracy made 51 with three fours and three sixes, Avinash Ganesh 32, Yudhistir Parbhudin 23 and Deendyal Guyadeen 22. Rajiv Kadernauth had 3 for 57 in 10 overs and Mohanram Chetram 3 for 58 in 10 overs.
Windsor Forest B were bowled out for 101 in 35 overs, in reply. Muneshwar Balgobin made 49 (2 x 4, 4 x 6) and Hemchand Bisnauth 14. Maniram Ragnauth claimed 4 for 9 in five overs, Deendyal Guyadeen 2 for 17 in nine overs and Abdullaah Wazidali 2 for 32 in two overs.
At Joe Vieira Park, Christ Ambassadors rattled up 322 all out in 37 overs. Floyld Bovell stroked eight fours and three sixes in a top score of 114, while Leon Andrews made 45 with five fours and one six. T. Carrington captured 3-43 and Jermin Ramroop captured 2-37.
In reply, La Grange made 226 all out; G. Singh made 70 with five fours and six sixes, while Ramroop scored 62 including five fours and five sixes. Chanderpaul Harrylall captured 4-10 and Leon Andrews 2-29.
Mc Gill Super Stars batted first at Okoo cricket ground and managed 151 all out in 40 overs. Sudesh Persaud made 42 with five fours while Keshram Seyhodan made 24 (3×4, 1×6), Travis Persaud 21 (4×4) and Daniel Basdeo 18 (1×6, 1×4). Bisram Thomas bagged 5-35 off eight overs, Malcom Hubbard had 2-25 and Jamal Gomes 2-37.
Zeeburg responded with 151-3 in 29.5 overs. Malcolm Hubbard struck three fours and two sixes in a top score of 48 not out, while Balbinder Shivpersaud made 36 with three fours and three sixes and Nick Mustapha 26. Abdool Razack, Ganesh Puran and Seyhodan had one wicket each.
