National Draughts Championship starts November 10

The Annual National Draughts Championship will commence on November 10 at the National Gymnasium Mandela Avenue. Players from most of the regions will participate in this event.
The tournament would be played for three consecutive Sundays. The first game would be the B Division which would be contested on the 8×8 boards. The second game on the following Sunday would see the Senior players vie for top honors. This game would also be played on the 8×8 boards. Then on the last Sunday players from all divisions would compete on the International 10×10 boards.
Starting time for all games would be 10.30am sharp. Entrance fee is $500. Trophies and gifts would be awarded based on sponsorship and snacks will also be served.
The National Draughts Association extends invitation to players and potential players to participate in this Championship. For more information call the association’s president Mr. Jairam on 614-6671.
